Ask ELISE.... (about plastic surgery and that)

Q - Have you had a client thats gone too far?? And did you tell them??

A - Many clients go too far, they have unrealistic ideas and unobtainable goals and a few even have body dysmorphic syndrome. My role is to educate and inform my clients of their options and give nonjudgmental advice when needed. You can turn people away if they are not suitable candidates however, I have learnt that if you turn someone away, they will knock on the next plastic surgeons door down and he will do the surgery.  There is always a Doctor scalpel-in-hand ready to go for the money, especially now when times are financially harder. If someone is determined enough to get the work done, believe me they wont listen to anyone’s opinion.

I know I only work for the best and experienced Doctors and the final decision comes down to him or her and if they think the patient needs an evaluation from a Psychiatrist then that’s the best thing for the patient, the surgery may be the tip of the ice berg. I had one patient come see us and they wanted the Doc to remove their belly button…. seriously.

Q - Are there any good non-invasive products coming out??

A - There is a new exciting product on the market released here in the U.S in March called LATISSE made by Allergan the pharmaceutical company that makes Botox. Basically it is a prescription treatment for Hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough lashes) used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. It is awesome, totally works and is a fabulous alternative to having false lashes glued on every 2-3 weeks.
